There cannot be clutter, there has to be good lighting, and there has to be a lot of love in everything within the spaces. Such must be the environment to foster health and wellbeing for the patient and you. It must be frustrating living with an Alzheimers patient, but Im pretty certain that you can alleviate your discomfort better if you prepare for it. There are a few issues that you must be attentive to if you will, and you must learn those from the doctor treating them. Capisce? People suffering from Alzheimers disease tend to get around quite a bit. You will do well to make sure they have room for that if you have one living with you. They often also have thoughts like they are not of this world, and so you might need to create a world for them in your home that they would appreciate. Call that the 1-2-3 of Alzheimers care. With their penchant for walking all over the place, patients suffering from Alzheimers disease tend to need a lot of space to do their pacing. You might want to remove obstacles wherever you can if you are about to bring someone home who suffers because things could get out of hand. A parent of yours may have been in the hospital being treated for Alzheimers and now you are thinking of bringing them home. Well, good for you, except that have you considered all that it means to you? If you haven’t, you had better do that now before things get out of hand for you and them.
